1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Clipso ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.

2. License Grant

Free Version: The free version of Clipso is provided for personal and educational use. You may use it on any number of devices you personally own.

Pro Version: Upon purchasing a Pro license, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Clipso Pro on devices you personally own, subject to the license type purchased:

• Lifetime License: Perpetual license for personal use
• Annual License: Valid for one year from purchase date, renewable
• Monthly License: Valid for one month from purchase date, renewable

3. Free Tier Limitations

The free version includes the following limitations:

• Maximum 250 clipboard items
• 30-day retention period
• Keyword search only (AI semantic search disabled)
• Context detection disabled

4. Pro Features

Pro licenses unlock:

• Unlimited clipboard items
• Unlimited retention period
• AI semantic search
• Automatic context detection and project tagging
• Priority support
• Early access to new features

5. Payment and Billing

All payments are processed securely through Paddle. By purchasing a Pro license, you agree to Paddle's terms of service. Subscription licenses (annual/monthly) will automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

7. Privacy and Data

Clipso is designed with privacy as a core principle:

• All data is stored locally on your device
• No cloud sync or data transmission
• No analytics or telemetry
• No third-party data sharing
• All AI processing happens on-device using Apple's frameworks

Your clipboard data never leaves your Mac. We have no access to your data.

8. Open Source

Clipso is open source software. The source code is available at github.com/dcrivac/Clipso. While the source code is freely available, the Pro features require a valid license.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.

10. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

11. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Redistribute Pro features without a valid license
• Reverse engineer license validation mechanisms
• Share license keys with others
• Use the Software for illegal purposes
• Attempt to bypass freemium limitations

12. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue the Software at any time. Pro license holders will continue to have access to Pro features for the duration of their license period.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
